Mechanochemical preparation and application of graphdiyne coupled with CdSe nanoparticles for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production

Graphdiyne (GDY) has attracted considerable attention as a new two-dimensional (2D) carbon hybrid material because of its good conductivity, adjustable electronic structure, and special electron transfer enhancement properties. GDY great potential in the field photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen evolution, owing to unique In this study, was successfully prepared by mechanochemical coupling precursors C6Br6 CaC2 using ball-milling approach. The GDY, especially microstructure composition, well characterized different techniques such X-ray diffraction, scanning microscopy, transmission photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier-transform infrared, Raman characterization techniques. By exploiting structure outstanding light absorption properties GDY/CdSe 2D/0D heterojunctions were established applied evolution. evolution activity GDY/CdSe-20, type composite material, reached 6470 μmol g–1 h–1, which is 461 40 times higher than that CdSe, respectively. Moreover, fine electrical conductivity enabled rapid effective photogenerated electrons CdSe into reaction. path studied through XPS with situ irradiation, reasonable mechanism reaction proposed. This study provides feasible approach large-scale preparation demonstrates prospects photocatalysis.
